Snacks. Television. Antibiotics. Hand Braces.

I was going to post about our Utah trip, but the site isn't letting me put up pictures right now.
Winter Break has been great. I've been sick for most of it though. Well, I've had a cold. I had some sinus problems and thought I might have a cavity cause my teeth were hurting, but my dad cleared me of that. Thank God for xrays!. Now I'm on antibiotics to help clear up this sickness. Luckily, Doug hasn't gotten it, but he's been sick enough for this year. It's nice to have some extra time. I've still been working quite a bit, but without homework and classes it leaves a lot of down time.
Doug's got a brace that the doctor gave him. He's had to go to the doctor a few times after smashing his hand in a door at work. The second visit they determined he has a stress fracture in his palm. He had medicine for a while. Then on the third time they gave him a hand brace to wear. He wasn't happy about that. The entire thing's been covered by worker's compensation so at least that was good. We wouldn't have been able to pay for so many doctor visits! At least he's able to heal now.
My grades got posted for what counts towards graduation honors. I got Magna Cum Laude. I was only .006 away from Summa Cum Laude. I'm excited for my accomplishment though! I worked hard for that! The class I got a B in I know I deserved because it was my Spanish 2 online class and I hardly did any of the speaking homework, only the other stuff. I remember being surprised I got a B actually. The class I got a B+ in I wasn't sure I earned, but it's not worth arguing over to me. I got an A in a class this semester that really threw me for a loop. I thought for sure I'd get a B or B-, so I can't complain about the jipped A for the other class. I'm proud of myself.
We've been snacking a lot lately. A lot of chips and salsa again. We seem to go through phases with that snack. When we first got married I always bought medium salsa cause I assumed Doug liked salsa spicy. I just got sour cream so that I could bear it, but still got a runny nose from the spiciness (I'm a wimp when it comes to spicy food). One time we were grocery shopping together and were picking out the salsa and Doug asked if we could get mild, cause he didn't really like the medium. We were both eating the medium cause we thought the other liked it! So since then, we've gotten mild. Until yesterday, when I was in the grocery aisle and was craving a bit more spicy in my salsa. So I made sure we had sour cream too.
We've also been watching the show Lost. Which explains the snacking. We always saw all the facebook posts about it and heard a bunch of hoopla about it, but never got into it. Now the complete series is on Netflix, so on Thursday we started the first episode. We didn't watch any on Friday. So in three days we're on episode 17...yeah...we're hooked. It's so frustrating! And a lot creepier than I was expecting! And I don't like scary movies! I dunno what I'm gonna do when Doug goes out of town this week.
Doug's gonna be gone to the...crap...I forgot what it was called. Electronics Conference Expo Something. It's a big deal I guess and it's in Vegas. But he'll be gone for 5 days. Since we've been married we haven't spent a night apart from each other. This is gonna be rough. Good thing I've got my Kindle to keep me occupied.
I got a Kindle for Christmas from my parents and have been enjoying it so far. I looked up random books that I thought would be free and downloaded those. The Count of Monte Cristo. Pride and Prejudice. Great Expectations. (Those last two I've started in paperback form, but never finished). Phantom of the Opera. There's a few others too. Right now I'm reading The Secret Garden. It's always been a favorite movie of mine so I thought I'd read the book. It's really different from the movie. No earthquake, just cholera.
We still have our Christmas decorations up. I'm not sure when we'll take them down. If we follow my family's tradition they'll come down at the end of February or March :)
I think that's about it for now. Not too much has happened. I'm looking forward to the rest of my break though. Time to get rested and well! As soon as the website cooperates, I'll post about our Utah trip. I promise.
